Well, if you needed to know what the potential is for the 2023 first-round pick for the Washington Nationals, it is going to be all going up. Over the weekend, multiple media outlets reported that the Washington Nationals will be promoting Dylan Crews to the Harrisburg Senators, skipping the High A level altogether.
The 21-year-old will be playing for the Harrisburg Senators as he continues his rise through the minor league system. The Senators begin their next series on Tuesday where Crews could make his Double-A debut.
Crews played in just 14 Low-A games and one rookie-level game this summer, quickly showcasing his power at the plate and elite-level skills in the field. Crews recorded 22 hits, 16 runs, five home runs, 24 RBI, and a 1.068 OPS in two weeks during his Single-A showing.
Crews’ promotion will put the Nationals’ top three prospects all on the same level. No. 2 prospect James Wood (MLB No. 7) and No. 3 Brady House (MLB No. 43) are already with the Harrisburg Senators.
The 2023 Golden Spikes Award winner as the best amateur baseball player in the country, Crews hit .426/.567/.713 for LSU, the eventual national champions.
