- FOREVER YOUNG. I WANT TO BE FOREVER YOUNG. Since the Nationals selected Jacob Young's contract on August 26th and making his MLB debut he has started in every game since August 27. Young has reached base safely in all nine games (.353 OBP, 8 H, 4 BB), a Nationals (2005.) record for consecutive games reaching base as a starter to begin a career. Young has hit safely in seven straight. and is 8-for-24 (.333) with three doubles, three RBI, two walks, two stolen bases, and three runs scored during the streak.
- THE END. Closer Kyle Finnegan ranks seventh in the National League with a career-high of 25 saves this season. In his last 34 appearances and 37 innings pitched, Finnegan has 14 saves, five holds, and an ERA of 1.95. He has held his opponents to a .202 average.
- WELCOME TO THE SHOW. When called up to the Major’s outfielder Travis Blakenhorn on September 1st, Blankenhorn homered and reached base three times and is the 13th Washington Nationals player to homer in his debut with the team. Lastly, Blankenhorn has a hit in his first four games. He led the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A team) in OPS (.884) and slugging percentage (.521) over his 108 games.
- HOW YOU DOING? Since joining the Washington Nationals last year DH/1B/OF Joey Meneses has been hitting .292/.339/.453 with 46 2B, 1 3B, 24 HR, 111 RBI, 49 BB, and 95 R in 187 career games. He also is tied 6th in the NL in average with runners in scoring position and is tied for 3rd in the NL with 13-game winning RBIs.

RHP Joan Adon enters tonight’s game against the Mets with a record of 2-1 and an ERA of 5.90. So far this season, Adon has pitched a total of 29 innings, striking out 23 and has a WHIP of 1.14. Adon climbed to the No. 7 prospect in the Washington Nationals system according to Baseball America entering the 2022 season.

In his first appearance with the Nationals, Adon retired 18 of 22 batters he faced and allowed just three hits against the Miami Marlins back on August 25th.
