The Washington Nationals will finish their four-game series against the New York Mets. The Nationals will send RHP Jake Irvin (6-6; 3.03 ERA) to the mound and face LHP Jose Quintana (3-7; 4.57 ERA) from the Mets this morning.

Today’s game will be simulcasted to bases everywhere via the American Forces Network, which reaches more than 400,000 audience members worldwide and at sea as part of AFN’s partnership with Major League Baseball.

Trailing 5-0 in the fifth inning, the Washington Nationals scored seven unanswered runs, sparked by the second multi-home run game of Luis García Jr.'s career and a game-winning RBI from James Wood to defeat the New York Meys 7-5 last night. Last night’s victory was the National's 23rd comeback win, tied for the second-most in Major League Baseball.
James Wood finished 2-for-3 with his first career RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored. In his first three major league games, he is 3-for-10 with an RBI, three walks, a stolen base, and a run scored and is hitting .300.
Lane Thomas delivered the game-tying RBi-double in the bottom of the seventh inning. Thomas has recorded an extra-base hit in seven of his last 13 games and has gone 14-for-55, with five doubles, two triples, a home run, and 12 RBI. Last night, Thomas finished the game 1-for-4 with an RBI double.
RHP Kyle Finnegan got his 23rd save last night after retiring the side in the top of the ninth.

Corbin has pitched to a 3.47 ERA (9 ER/23.1 IP) over his last four starts. Corbin is 2-2 with a 3.64 in eight career starts against the Cardinals.

According to Baseball Savant, Young is tied for second in all of Major League Baseball with ten runs prevented and 12 outs above average.
