Game Highlights
- HIT THE ROAD JACK. The Nationals will close out the 2023 season with four road games one tonight in Baltimore and then three in Atlanta this weekend. Entering tonight’s game, the Nationals have a 35-42 record away from Nationals Park this season.
- CJ WAS BORN TO RUN. Since moving to the leadoff spot back in July, CJ Abrams has stolen 32 bases which is the most ahead of RonaldAcuña Jr. and Corbin Carroll (27). - OH, WHAT A RELIEF IT IS. Nationals reliever Kyle Finnegan ranks seventh in the National League with a career-high 27 saves. With three more saves, Finnegan would become the first Nationals reliever (2005-pres.) to record 30 saves in a season since Rafael Soriano in 2014. With one more save, Kyle Finnegan will record 50 in his career, making him the fifth Nationals reliever (2005.) to record 50 saves with Washington.
- JOEY AND KELBERT. Joey Meneses ranks 4th (.364) and Keibert Ruiz ranks 5th, (.353) each rank in the top five in the National League in batting average with runners in scoring position this season. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the only other club to have at least two players in the top 10 in the National League. Specifically, Joey Meneses' 59 hits with runners in scoring position are the most in Major League Baseball.
- DON’T RUN ON PATRICK. LHP Patrick Corbin leads all Major League pitchers with 34 assists and nine pickoffs which is also a career-high.
