The Washington Nationals will finish the first half of the season today as they face the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Nationals will send RHP Jake Irvin (7-7; 3.13 ERA) to the mound, and the Brewers will send RHP Colin Rea (8-3; 3.81 ERA) to the mound.

The Nationals are looking to get a sweep of the Brewers after being swept by the New York Mets earlier in the week. The win gave the Nationals their first series in Milwaukee since June 23-25, 2014.

With a win on Sunday, the Nationals would secure their first sweep over the Brewers since April 15-17, 2011, and their first in Milwaukee since June 2-4, 2006.

Thanks to a two-run home run in the top of the ninth by All-Star CJ Abrams, the Washington Nationals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5.

The Nationals sent LHP Mitchell Parker to the mound to face the Brewers. Parker went 0.2 innings, giving up five runs on three hits and struck out two. He threw 46 pitches, with 28 of them being strikes. Parker only faced seven batters before being pulled in the bottom of the first.

The Nationals bullpen, which included RHP Jordan Weems, RHP Jacob Barnes, RHP Dylan Floro, and RHP Derek Law, locked things down as they delivered 8.1 shout-out innings so that the Nationa’s offense could return and win the game. RHP Kyle Finnegan secured his 25th save for the Nationals this afternoon. RHP Derek Law got the win for the team and now has a 5-2 record and now has a 3.18 ERA. [Read the full Game Recap here.]
