Fredericksburg Nationals Story Line
After dropping four straight in Fayetteville - the last three by a combined 27 runs - the FredNats will try to get things back on track going into the final two games of this series at Segra Stadium. RHP Brad Lord gets the ball tonight for the FredNats in his first career professional start.
He pitched one inning of scoreless relief on Sunday at home against Lynchburg in his professional debut after being drafted by the Nationals in 2022.
The FredNats got a strong start from Jarlin Susana, who pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless ball with six strikeouts, but Fayetteville once again had a big inning in the middle of the game, scoring seven times in the 5th inning for an 8-2 win. The FredNats got an RBI single from Elijah Green in the 9th inning, but it was too late to mount a serious comeback. The Woodpeckers have now won five, four straight games in this series, alone in first place in the Carolina League South Division.
