The Washington Nationals open their final homestand of the 2024 season on tonight, looking to build momentum ahead of their season-ending series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Following their penultimate series against the Kansas City Royals, the Nationals will face the Phillies this weekend in a pivotal matchup that could shape their offseason plans.

Washington has significantly improved at home this season, with 36 wins at Nationals Park (36-39, .480). This marks their highest home win total since the 2019 season (50-31, .617).

Since June 7, the Nationals have posted a solid 26-22 record (.542) at home, contrasting their 10-17 (.370) start from Opening Day to June 6.

Today, the Washington Nationals announced that they have recalled Stone Garrett from Triple-A Rochester and placed infielder Andrés Chaparro on the Paternity List on Tuesday. 

This marks Garrett’s first Major League stint of the season after he hit .311 with 11 doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI, 15 walks, and 20 runs scored in 41 games for Triple-A Rochester after July 3. Garrett hit .249 with 13 doubles, three home runs, 22 RBI, 36 walks, two stolen bases, and 32 runs scored in 79 games between Double-A and Triple-A in 2024.
