Philadelphia, PA - The Washington Nationals will kick off a weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies and will send LHP Patrick Corbin (6-17; 6.28 ERA) to the mound, while the Phillies will send RHP Noah Syndergaard (8-9; 4.07 ERA) to the mound.
This will be the last series in Philadelphia for the 2022 season and close out a three-city road trip.

Washington earned the series split with the Cardinals with an 11-6 win on Thursday. A late lineup addition, Alex Call led the way offensively, going 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Call is just the sixth rookie in Franchise history (WSH/MON) to have four or more hits and five or more RBI in a game. César Hernández added three hits and three RBI. Nelson Cruz also chipped in three hits for a Nationals offense that had 18 hits as a group.
Game Notes
- Before tonight's game, the Nationals selected the contract of Israel Pineda, recalled Jordan Weems, designated Jake McGee for assignment and placed Keibert Ruiz on the 10-day Injured List with a testicular contusion.
- In 32 games since making his Major League debut on Aug. 2, Joey Meneses is hitting .319 (43-for-131) with eight doubles, seven home runs, 18 RBI, five walks and 21 runs scored.
- CJ Abrams is 9-for-21 (.429) with a triple, a double, three RBI, and five runs scored over his last five games. Abrams has hit safely in four of the five contests.
- LHP Patrick Corbin faces the Phillies for the third time this season and second time at Citizens Bank Park. Corbin was taken out after just 0.2 innings in his only start in Philadelphia this season. He allowed six runs on five hits and two walks on August 6.
