The Harrisburg Senators make it two straight wins over the Richmond Flying Squirrels with a 6-1 win Wednesday night at The Diamond in Richmond. The Senators scored runs in four straight innings and Tim Cate was solid in six innings of work. Harrisburg tallied two in the second and single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings for a 5-0 lead.

Cate went six innings and didn’t allow a run to Richmond. He pitched out of trouble in the first and second innings, stranding the bases loaded in the second. He retired ten of the final twelve batters he faced. Carson Teel pitched a scoreless sixth inning. Gerardo Carrillo allowed a home run in the eighth but struck out the final two batters of the frame. Jose Ferrer struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

SS Yasel Antuna blasted his home run to the right of straight away CF in the fifth inning. He also had a single going 2-for-5. Wilson Garcia led the way for the Harrisburg Senators with three hits including a solo home run. He doubled and had an RBI single. On the season Garcia has 19 HRs and 67 RBIs. Darren Baker singled and doubled, driving in a run, and extending his hit streak to 12 games. Jackson Cluff had two hits and scored twice.

Both teams left ten on the bases. Richmond leads the season series eight games to six. The Harrisburg Senators are now 8-8 in the past 16 games.
