According to Andrew Golden of the Washington Post, James Wood exited tonight’s Rochester Red Wing game with “lower body soreness” in the fifth inning. [Tweet link] Wood was replaced by Alex Call, who finished the game.

The Washington Nationals’ top prospect entered tonight’s game on a 28-game hitting streak. The Rochester Red Wings lost to the Leigh Valley Iron Pigs 2-5 tonight.

Before leaving tonight’s game, Wood went 0-1 with a walk. Wood finished a triple shy of the cycle on Thursday night's win with a 3-for-4 night. Since the streak began on April 20th against Toledo Mud Hens, Wood is reaching base at a .480 clip, the best in the IL over that span.

In last night’s win, Wood went 3-4 with 2 RBI and finished a triple shy of hitting a cycle.

According to reports, Wood will be evaluated tomorrow and we should know more details then.
