Good Morning Washington Nationals Fan,

Here are the latest headlines and analyses around the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for today, July 6th. My name is Haden Raymer and this is your morning briefing. Today’s top story is the Nationals are facing a potential four-game sweep after dropping game three to the Reds.

Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nats lose game three to the Cincinnati Reds

The Nationals lost 9-3 in yesterday’s game. Josiah Gray struck out six over five innings, allowing five runs, but only three were earned. Gray struggled with finding the zone, which led to many long counts, and four walks. Tommy La Sorsa was responsible for the other four runs over the two innings he pitched.

There was some drama with Elly De La Cruz, who had a sensor on the knob of his bat during an at-bat. Davey pointed it out to the umpires, who had it removed for that at-bat, but it returned for the rest of his at-bats. The sensor used to track swing data was officially approved by MLB.

Lane Thomas is your Nats Report Player of the Game for his 2-4 game and an outfield assist. The next game begins at 1:05 p.m. on MASN2.
