Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nats win 7-4 in the late-night game
It was a back-and-forth game, with the Nats taking and losing the lead in the first inning. A Jeimer Candelario double cut the deficit early, and a Luis García sac fly tied it in the top of the seventh. Jake Irvin had a solid outing, going five and two-thirds with four strikeouts and giving up three runs.
The Mariners took the lead in the bottom of the seventh, but in the top of the eighth, Keibert Ruiz took a ball deep to once again tie the game.

The game then went onto extra innings, and only ended in the 11th after Lane Thomas drove in two on a double. García tacked on an insurance run by driving Thomas in with a single. Jordan Weems earned the win for pitching in both extra innings.
Your Nats Report Player of the Game is Ruiz for his game-tying home run. Today’s game begins at 4:10 p.m. and will be broadcast on MASN2.

No links from me today, but if you have the chance, go watch what Ohtani did last night. He is incredible and there is no one like him.
