Good Thursday Morning, Washington Nationals Fans.
Well, in the D.C. region, we got our first snow of the season and 2020. Doesn't it feel kind of nice?
Today's Top Story: The Nationals are a possibility for free-agent catcher Yadier Molina.
According to MLB Insider, National columnist, FanSided.com reporter Robert Murray, "The Nationals are a possibility for free-agent catcher Yadier Molina. The 38-year-old is drawing interest from multiple teams and Washington."
In October, on the Nats Report, we wondered if "Yadier Molina be a good fit for the Washington Nationals?." From the article: "However, there is a case to be made that by not going all-in on Realmuto and looking for another cheaper catching option, Molina might be the perfect fit for Washington." Yesterday, in the Washington Post, Nationals beat reporter Jesse Dougherty wrote an article titled "Will the Nationals extend Max Scherzer's contract? There are a few dynamics at play."
The article lays out some interesting ideas on what the future holds for the future Hall of Fame pitcher.
If you are a frequent reader of the Nats Report, you saw on Sunday that we published an article titled: "Is it time to think about trading Max Scherzer?". Many people on social media called us "nuts," "wanabees," and some other choice words that we will not mention. Well, make sure that you tell your fellow friends who are Washington Nationals fans that if they want to be ahead of the curve on Washington Nationals analysis, they need to subscribe to the Nats Report or follow us on Twitter.
Major League Baseball News announced that the Negro League will now be a part of MLB's official records. From our article: "Addressing what MLB described as a 'long-overdue recognition,'Major League Commissioner Rob Manfred on Wednesday bestowed Major League status upon seven professional Negro Leagues that operated between 1920 and 1948. The decision means that the approximately 3,400 players of the Negro Leagues during this time period are officially considered Major Leaguers, with their stats and records becoming a part of Major League history."
Did you know that Washington D.C. has a connection with the Negro League? Check out our story to learn more about this vital connection.
Don't miss our latest episode of "In the Clubhouse," where we talk with 106.7 the Fan's Pete Medhurst. We discussed Washington D.C. sports and, of course, the Nationals, and what it was like to fill in for Charlie Slowes on the radio. It's a fun listen.
