When COVID-19 changed the world early this year, the Scherzer's took immediate action towards local pandemic relief and started an organization named Nats for Masks.
The goal of Nats for Masks was to raise money from around the DMV and the country to purchase much-needed masks for underprivileged communities in Washington DC. To date, the Nats for Masks initiative has raised over $15,500, and both Scherzer's have donated themselves of over $31,00.00
Nats for Masks an initiative that Max and Erica Scherzer started back when COVID-19 has entered it's the latest phase of helping the Washington D.C. community.
In addition to helping supply masks throughout D.C., money raised from Phase 2 will also fight food insecurity throughout Washington D.C. Nats for Masks will be auctioning off some of the Scherzer's memorabilia, including game-worn baseball cleats from Max's no-hitter versus the Mets on October 3, 2015, game-worn 2015 All-Star Game jersey, and so much more.
