Omaha Storm Chasers defeat Red Wings 9-1

Rochester, NY—Yesterday, the Rochester Red Wings were defeated by the Omaha Storm Chasers 9-1. Rochester finished up a two-week homestand and now has a record of 57-49. the Red Wings will travel to Buffalo to face the Buffalo Bisons for their week-long series starting tomorrow evening.

RHP Kyle Luckham made his third start with Rochester on Sunday afternoon and his 20th in total. The right-hander pitched 4.2 innings and allowed six hits and six earned runs while striking out two batters he faced. LHP Joe La Sorsa entered in relief midway through the fifth inning and provided 1.1 scoreless innings with a strikeout. This marks his 12th hitless appearance of the season, showcasing his dominance on the mound.

RHP Adonis Medina made his 34th appearance in the eighth and threw a 1.0 scoreless inning on a hit with one punch out. Orlando Ribalta finished the afternoon with a 1.0 hitless inning, with a strikeout to all three batters he faced.

The Rochester Red Wings bullpen continues to shine, with outstanding performances from LHP Joe La Sorsa and RHP Adonis Medina. La Sorsa delivered another impressive outing, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out one batter.

Outfielder Stone Garrett continues to impress with his consistent hitting. Today, he added another hit to his impressive tally, going 1-for-3 with a walk. Since July 1st, Garrett has been on fire, boasting a remarkable .350 batting average and an on-base percentage of .444. Rochester responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the sixth. 3B José Tena led off the inning with a walk and moved to second when CF Jack Dunn was hit by a pitch. A flyout moved Tena to third, and he came around to score on a force out by DH Carter Kieboom to make the score 6-1.
