It's official the Washington Nationals have reinstated right handed pitcher Stephen Strasburg off the IL. The Nationals in a corresponding move, optioned right-handed pitcher Kyle McGowin to Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Strasburg, 32, returns to the active roster after missing 31 games with right shoulder inflammation. He was placed on the 10-day Injured List on April 18 (retroactive to April 15). He made one rehab start with Triple-A Rochester, tossing 4.1 innings of two-hit, shutout ball on May 16. He struck out six batters and issued two walks. In two Major League starts this season, Strasburg is 0–1 with a 6.30 ERA and 11 strikeouts.
