Miami, FL: The Washington Nationals swept the Miami Marlins with their 14th win of this season tonight. The Nationals beat the Marlins 7-2 and are now 14-14 (and .500) as they head to Arlington, Texas, to face the 2023 World Series Champions: the Texas Rangers.

Jacob Young stole his 24th and 25th consecutive base without being caught. He had a remarkable series in general. He stole six bases and scored nine runs, which had not been done since 1911, according to OptaSTATS.

But today’s game has a special significance. If they win today, it will be the Nationals’ first time above .500 since July 1, 2021. Additionally, it would be the first time in Davey Martinez’s tenure that he escaped April with a winning record.

So who is the lucky team that gets to face the Nationals? The World Series defending champions Texas Rangers of course. LHP MacKenzie Gore (2-2, 3.12 ERA) faces off against RHP Jon Gray (0-1, 2.92 ERA). First pitch is at 8:05 pm ET and will be televised on MASN2.
