This afternoon, Dave Martinez and Mike Rizzo held their first press conference post-lockout with reporters over Zoom and in person. While there were a lot of interesting quotes to comb over, the quotes about Juan Soto by Rizzo were obviously the most interesting.
Here are some of the interesting quotes from Rizzo during the press conference:

Rizzo acknowledged that Soto's contract is "No. 1 priority."
Rizzo acknowledged that the team is looking for a veteran bat to fill the newly established DH in the NL spot. Jesse Dougherty reported that the Nationals have expressed interest in Nelson Cruz, to be that bat. However, according to Jon Heyman, there is a whole list of teams that are interested in Cruz. Mark Feinsand reported that the Dodgers + Padres are the front-runners to land the DH. [So we will see]
