Today, Major League Baseball's Florida Complex League will kick off. The Florida Complex League, operated by Major League Baseball, is a Rookie-level circuit that has operated in Florida since 1964. Previously known as the Gulf Coast League, most games are played at Major League Spring Training complexes. Games are open to the public with free admission.

Playoff Procedures:

  • The Postseason begins on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022.
  • Three (3) division winners and one (1) wild card team (i.e., the team with the best winning percentage who is not a division winner).
  • Four (4) teams are seeded according to winning percentage, regardless of whether the team is a division winner or wild card. 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3.
  • One game semi-final followed by the best-of-three final. Semi-finals hosted by the higher ranked team; Finals Game 1 hosted by the lower ranked team; Finals Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) hosted by the higher ranked team.

Tiebreakers

  • In the event of any ties, the following tiebreakers will apply in the order below:
  • Head-to-head record (if three or more Clubs, the best winning percentage in games among the Clubs).
  • If the Clubs remain tied, the best overall winning percentage over the last 20 games.
  • If the Clubs remain tied, the best overall winning percentage over an additional game (i.e., the last 21 games, the last 22 games, etc.) until one emerges with a better winning percentage in that span of games.
