On Friday, June 17th Angels' PR reported Rendon would undergo right wrist surgery, ending his season early. Ever since signing after the 2019 season with the Angels, Rendon's time in LA has been marred with injuries. He played a mere 58 games in 2021, as hip surgery held him out of the remaining contests. His situation eerily parallels that of Stephen Strasburg, who was placed on the 15 day IL with complications from his Thorasic Outlet Syndrome surgery last week, which may sideline him for the rest of the season. Both 2019 World Series champions signed for 235 million dollars following the '19 campaign, and both have missed most of their games over the last two seasons with injury. We are already 3 years into Rendon, and Strasburg's contracts, and neither has been able to stay healthy for near a full season. Rendon still has four years to make the most of his contract, and we wish him the best, but time is ticking.
