Fredericksburg, VA - After dropping a wild series opener 13-11 Tuesday night and a rainout last night, the Fredericksburg Nationals look to bounce back in a doubleheader today against Augusta. The Fredericksburg Nationals have will Jose Atencio on the mound in game one in his second home start since being called up from the Florida Complex League.

Karlo Seijas will make his second start since returning to Fredericksburg last week. The Fredericksburg Nationals have dropped three out of their last four games, and the division lead has been shrunk to 5.5 games in the second half. Atencio won against Salem in his home debut in late July but was roughed up in his last start at Down East.

Two different Fredericksburg Nationals have made big splashes in their debuts. In his first game with Fredericksburg after being moved in the Juan Soto trade, OF James Wood had an immediate impact. Wood went 4-for-6 with 3 RBIs, including a two-run home run to left center field. In his first Fredericksburg Nationals game after being called up, 2022 3rd rounder Trey Lipscomb hit a three-run homer in his first at-bat and drove in another run with an RBI single later in the game.
