The Harrisburg Senators and Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Guardians) play game one of their six-game series today at Canal Park in Akron. This is the second of three series between the two teams this season and the second series in Akron. Akron is the Senators' final home opponent this year in September. The RubberDucks lead the season series 4-2.
The Senators have several new faces that joined the team Friday. They are INF Omar Meregildo, C Israel Pineda, and INF Darren Baker. Pineda and Baker are in double-A for the first time. Meregildo was with the Senators for a couple of weeks last season. RHP Andrew Lee rejoined the Senators, and OF Rudy Martin was activated from the injured list.
LAST TIME OUT: The Altoona Curve scored single runs in the eighth and tenth innings to beat the Senators 3-2 Sunday afternoon in ten innings. Harrisburg scored first with an unearned run in the first inning. The lead held to the third when Altoona tied the game. The teams traded runs in the eighth inning, with the Senators loading the bases and tying the game, but a double play ended the frame.
