suffered the loss and allowed nine runs, but only two earned, on eight hits in 3.1 innings. In his last start, Corbin pitched 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out four on August 1 at home against the Mets. Corbin took the loss in Washington’s 7-3 defeat. - First baseman Joey Meneses made his Major League debut on Tuesday after playing in the minors for ten years. In his first game, he homered for his first career hit. Meneses became the seventh Washington Nationals' player (2005-Pres.) to homer in his Major League debut, joining Carter Kieboom, Juan Soto, Michael A. Taylor, Tommy Milone, Ian Desmond, and Brandon Watson. Of those, only Kieboom, Soto, and Milone did it for their first career hit.
