With a win Sunday night, the Rochester Red Wings avoid the sweep, topping Worcester 9-8). In his second rehab start with the Red Wings RHP Anibal Sanchez went 4.2 innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out seven Woo Sox. 1B Joey Meneses (16) and C Riley Adams (1) both contributed with a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th, Cole Freeman hit a game-winning two-run blast. The Rochester Red Wings move to 16-9 in one-run games and is 7-5 versus the Woo Sox this season.

RHP Anibal Sanchez went 4.2 innings and allowed three earned runs in his third Major League Rehab start (2nd w/ ROC). With RISP, Woo Sox batters were 1-for-7 with five strikeouts against Sanchez, the righty had seven strikeouts, tying the most he has had in a Minor League appearance since June 14, 2006 (10 w/ CAR, 40 MiLB appearances since). The Venezuela-native now posts a 12.7 K/9 in two rehab starts with the Wings and holds a 1-1 record in his appearances (both vs. WOR).

1B Joey Meneses went 1-for-3 with a solo shot and two RBI…Meneses’ blast in the first ends a 15- game homerless streak, his longest drought of the year, and prior to tonight’s game, the 30-year-old was 1-for-18 in the series versus Worcester and 0-for-his-last-17…the veteran now catapults back into the top five in the International League with his 16th longball this season.

In his first start since being optioned to Rochester on July 1, Red Wings Catcher Riley Adams went 2-for-4 with a homer and RBI-double. The 26-year-old was 0-for-3 in his one game with the Wings last season.
