According to media reports, Harold Ramirez will meet the Washington Nationals in San Diego. Ramirez, who signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on June 15, will join the Nationals starting this series.
Ramirez started the season with the Rays, hitting .268/.284/—305 before being released on June 14. After signing with Washington, he appeared in seven games with Triple-A Rochester, going 9-for-24 with four RBI. A corresponding move hasn't been announced.
The Nationals secured another series win over the weekend when they faced the Colorado Rockies. Entering tonight’s game, the Washington Nationals are half a game behind the San Diego Padres for the last NL Wildcard spot.
After this three-game series against the Padres, the Nationals will travel to Tampa Bay for an off day and three games against the Rays from June 28-30.
