Update:
"I’m not going to put any limitations on [Stephen Strasburg]. We’ll see how far we can take him. We’ll keep a close eye on him. This is one of the reasons why we wanted him to go through what he did and to make sure that he’s fully ready." -- manager Davey Martinez to reporters
As it was reported earlier today, RHP Stephen Strasburg might be making his 2022 season debut this Thursday in Miami. Well, it looks like it is official. Dave Martinez during his pre-game press conference announced that Strasburg will make the start on Thursday against Miami,
After two successful rehab starts in Fredericksburg, and a successful rehab start in Rochester, Strasburg will be slotted into the pitching rotation. If true, this would be Strasburg’s first major league appearance since last July when he underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
Strasburg has pitched just 26 2/3 innings since signing a seven-year $245 million contract with the Nationals back in December of 2019.
