First baseman Josh Bell has been one of those hot and then cold players over the past two seasons for the Washington Nationals. With Bell's contract about to expire, the Nationals face an interesting decision: should they make Bell a staple of the team moving forward or if the team is struggling at the mid-point of the season should the team trade him for a handful of prospects.

Let's table that question for a bit and let's answer the question: how is Josh Bell doing so far this season?

Josh Bell through 13 games and 47 ABs: .340 Batting Average; 16 Hits; 10 Runs; 11 RBI; 8 Walks and 2 Home Runs. What is nice to see is the RBI and hit totals for Bell as he has been hitting behind Juan Soto.

With Soto racking up walks, it is important for Bell to be that player to cash in and put the ball in play so that if a team does in fact walk Soto, the Nationals could get some runs.

Let's hope that Bell's totals keep on improving during the season.
