Just this morning, Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo appeared on his weekly 106.7 The Fan segment and discussed the hot Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Luis Garica. There were some interesting quotes about the shortstop and when the Nationals might see him at the Major league level.

Mike Rizzo talked about Escobar's struggles and what it means for Luis Garica: “We recognize that [Alcides Escobar] is struggling at the big-league level and Louie is thriving at the Triple-A level offensively. But I want to make sure that he’s prepared to play all facets of the game in the big leagues when he gets here.”

Last night, Garica went 4-4 with two home runs with the Rochester Red Wings. Garica right now is the hottest hitter in Triple-A and his defense is improving at shortstop, and that this why the Nationals need to promote him to the MLB right away.
