In the non-Washington Nationals news, New York Mets' Jacob deGrom is on track to return to the New York Mets starting pitching rotation.

According to the New York Mets, deGrom recently began playing catch on flat ground and will continue to build distance and velocity in his throwing program.

The New York Mets' also relieved in a tweet that deGrom underwent "follow-up imaging" that "revealed contiuned healing in [deGrom] the scapula."  MLB.com reported that the team plans on having him make 3-5 rehab starts before re-joining the big-league club.
