Quick Notes: RHP Franklyn Kilome and the Washington Nationals agree to Minor League Deal

According to the transactions tracker at MLB.com, the Nationals recently signed right-hander  Franklyn Kilome to a minor league contract. He has been assigned to the team’s Florida complex but will likely head to Triple-A Rochester after spending some time building to be game ready.

Kilome has played for the Phillies and New York Mets, all of whom play in the NL East. He is from the Dominican Republic and was signed by the Phillies as an amateur. While with the New York Mets, Kilome had the best strikeout and walked marks over the seven-start stretch with the Mets. However, he spent all of 2019 rehabbing from Tommy John surgery in 2018 and spent most of the 2020 season at the Mets' alternate training site.

The right-hander made four MLB appearances with the Mets during the shortened season, allowing 14 runs (including five homers) with 13 strikeouts and nine walks over 11 1/3 innings.
