According to reports, it looks like the 2019 World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg is set to return to the Washington Nationals pitching rotation as early as this Thursday. After two successful rehab starts in Fredericksburg, and a successful rehab start in Rochester, Strasburg will be slotted into the pitching rotation. If true, this would be Strasburg's first major league appearance since last July when he underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
Strasburg has pitched just 26 2/3 innings since signing a seven-year $245 million contract with the Nationals back in December of 2019.
It looks like his first start for the 2022 season will come Thursday night against the Miami Marlins. Stephen Strasburg’s career vs. Marlins: 21-7, 2.65 ERA, 1.032 WHIP in 210.1 IP
