Here is your daily Washington Nationals down on the farm report and what’s happening on Friday, May 6, 2022:
Fredericksburg Nationals (Single-A)
After losing back-to-back games to the same team for the first time all year, the Fredericksburg Nationals bounced back with a 9-1 win over the Lynchburg Hillcats in game two of today's doubleheader split the twin bill. Lynchburg took game one by a score of 10-7.
Washington's No. 4 overall prospect Jackson Rutledge came off the injured list yesterday to make his first start of 2022 in game one and received a no-decision. The righty pitched three innings and gave up seven hits and five earned runs with three strikeouts.
In-game two, it was all Fredericksburg.
Rodney Theophile won his third game of the season and continued to dominate opposing hitters, pitching five innings of one-run ball. He allowed four hits, no walks, and struck out 10 to improve to 3-0 on the year. Jose Ferrer and Jack Sinclair pitched scoreless innings out of the FredNat pen to secure the win.
At the plate, the top three men in the lineup - Jacob Young, Drew Millas, and De La Rosa - combined for six hits and five RBIs. Millas had four RBIs, including a no-doubter two-run homer in the 7th. Young, Steven Williams, and Leandro Emiliani all drove in runs for the FredNats, who scored in four of the seven innings to win comfortably.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (High-A)
In what was a back and forth battle between the two teams, the Wilmington Blue Rocks picked up their third game of the series 3-2 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods on May 5.
The night started out slow with five scoreless innings as starting pitcher Jake Irvin struck out two batters with the Blue Rocks’ fielders picking off the remaining hits from the Hot Rods.
On the opposite side, the Hot Rods’ starting pitcher, Mason Montgomery, struck out ten Blue Rocks players and only allowed for three hits over the six innings he pitched.
The bottom of the sixth saw the first run of the night. After center fielder Israel Pineda and designated hitter Omar Meregildo hit the first back-to-back hits since the second inning, first baseman Drew Mendoza doubled on a line drive to left field, sending Pineda home.
Upcoming Game: Tonight, the Wilmington Blue Rocks will continue to host the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. EDT, and LHP Tim Cate will take the mound for the Blue Rocks. Cate has an ERA of 5.40 and has a 1-1 record with eight total strikeouts.

Harrisburg Senators (Double-A)
The Senators rallied from a 1-0 deficit to beat the Bowie Baysox 6-1 Thursday at Prince Georges Stadium. Dondrei Hubbard had a big game, driving in four runs with a two-run single and two-run home run. He has hits in six straight at-bats. Five Senators pitchers held the Baysox to a single run.
Cole Henry started and went 2.2 innings striking out four and walking five. He allowed a run and one hit. Andrew Lee followed and earned his second win on the season. He went three innings with four strikeouts and two walks. He also allowed a couple of hits. Matt Cronin pitched a perfect 1.1 innings. Reid Schaller pitched a scoreless eighth, and Alberto Guerrero followed with a scoreless ninth.
Dondrei Hubbard had the Senator's third four-hit game this season. He drove in four runs with a two-run single and a two-run home run. Taylor Gushue drove in a run with a single, and Wilson Garcia had a sac fly.
Upcoming Game: The Harrisburg Senators will continue their series against the Bowie Baysox tonight. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. EDT. (Let's hope that the weather holds out)

Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A)
Jackson Tetreault tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings as the Red Wings blanked the Scranton/WB RailRiders, 2-0, for the second straight game Thursday night at Frontier Field.
This is the first time the Wings have tossed back-to-back shutouts since August 26-27, 2015.
Luis Garcia provided the offense, collecting his team-leading sixth home run and tripling in his first two at-bats. Garcia scored both runs giving him 26 on the season to lead the league.
