Here is your daily Washington Nationals down on the farm report and what’s happening on Saturday, May 14, 2022:

Fredericksburg Nationals  (Single-A)

Rodney Theophile spun another gem, Brady House reached base twice in his return from the IL, but the FredNat bullpen fell apart late in a 5-2 loss to the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers on Friday night at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. The game was tied 1-1 heading to the 8th, but Kannapolis scored four times in the top of the 8th inning to win.

Theophile gave up four hits, one unearned run, and struck out eight men with no walks. He lowers his Single-A best ERA to 0.82 on the season in 34 innings pitched. The FredNats also committed three errors behind Theophile, and he was able to get out of trouble all but once in the 2nd inning. Kannapolis got their first run on a single and then a throwing error in the outfield that allowed the runner to score from 3rd base to make it 1-0 Kannapolis.

Fredericksburg tied the game up in the 3rd when Branden Boissiere drove in Jeremy De La Rosa with an infield single off the glove of the Kannapolis 1st baseman. De La Rosa scored his league-leading 32nd run of the season to knot things at one.

That's where the score stood until the 8th when Theophile exited. Marlon Perez made his FredNat debut and struggled, lasting only two-thirds of an inning and allowing three hits and four earned runs. Orlando Ribalta got the final four outs for the FredNats.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (High-A)

The Wilmington Blue Rocks game Thursday night was postponed against the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Harrisburg Senators (Double-A)

Despirte hitting 14 on Friday night, the Harrisburg Sentators lost to the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-5. Brian Gonzalez got the lost and brought his record to 0-2. Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Jackson Cluff registered his fourth RBI in the loss and first baseman K.J. Harrison and right fielder Justin Connell also checked in with a homerun a piece. The Sentators went 3-13 with runners in scoring position and left ten on base in the loss.

Upcoming Game: The series continues Saturday, with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. from FNB Field. Right-handed pitcher Kai-Wei Teng (0-3, 4.82) will start for Richmond, opposed by left-hander Even Lee (0-1, 1.86) for Harrisburg,

Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A)

The Red Wings jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then held on to beat the Worcester Red Sox, 6-4, Friday night to win their SEVENTH straight game.

The seven-game streak is the longest for Red Wings (22-12) since June 2019.

Jefry Rodriguez made a start for the Wings, allowing only one hit and striking out four batters in the first four innings, but was pulled after giving up a home run and two walks. Jace Fry replaced and struck out Tristan Casas to get the Wings out of the jam.

Rochester opened up an early 6-0 lead thanks to a five-run fifth inning, but Worcester climbed back to make it 6-3 on a homer from Stewart and a double from Duran that brought in two more runs.

Wings center fielder Matt Lipka played well, tallying two hits and two runs in five at-bats to bring him to nine hits. Taylor Gushue also performed well with a run and an RBI.
