Leading today's Morning Briefing: Braves win 1st World Series title since 1995
Last night, the Atlanta Braves won their first World Series title since 1995 due to some impressive hitting and pitching. Max Fried went six scoreless innings in which he allowed just four hits with no free passes and six strikeouts. The Braves starting rotation was able to patch together some impressive wins after Atlanta Braves Game 1 starter Charlie Morton fractured his right fibula.
The Braves’ Joc Pederson made his mark in more ways than one. First, there were the pinch-hit homers in Games 1 and 3 of the National League Division Series against the Brewers -- both off Adrian Houser -- which made him the third player in history with two in a single postseason series and tied the record for a postseason career.
