Today's Top Story: How Hurt Was Carter Kieboom During the 2020 Season?

Steven Mears from TalkNats.com broke some news about Carter Kieboom yesterday and could explain a lot about Kieboom's performace during the 2020 season.

According to Mears, "A #Nats source told us on a condition of anonymity that Carter Kieboom played on what was thought to be a strained groin during the 2020 season and it turned out he was playing with a GROIN TEAR."

Looks like the Washington Nationals are Done for the Offseason

Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed third baseman Justin Turner to a two-year, $34 million deal. We have been advocating that the Nationals sign Turner to really make this offseason a success, but that is obviously not in the cards. It would appear that Rizzo and Co. are going with Carter Kieboom at third base and the roster that they currently have. We are now left to wonder if the strategy of signing a lot of one-year deals and trading for Josh Bell are the right move for the team in 2021.  Only time will tell.

ICYMI: Major League Baseball Finalizes Minor League Team Affiliations

Last week, Major League Baseball announced that all 120 Minor League Clubs who were offered an invitation to become Professional Development League (“PDL”) members have officially agreed to accept.  These teams, selected as partners by Major League Clubs, will provide both facilities and communities that are essential to the development of the next generation of big-league stars.

Negro League 101: A New Educational initiative and a Negro League TV Series?

During a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame president Bob Kendrick announced a new educational initiative: “Negro League 101.” This initiative will include a series of programs, events, and virtual reality projects. Additionally, the museum is also developing digital content that will include the digitalization of two of its most acclaimed traveling exhibitions.
