Leading this Morning's Breifing: Nationals make a move

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Washington Nationals agreed to terms with Reliever RHP Clay Helvey and will receive an invite to big league spring training. Helvey spent the last seven years San Francisco Giants system, striking out 102 batters with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats in 2024.

Helvey appeared in 41 games with the River Cats, pitching to a 4.96 ERA over 74.1 innings, giving up 47 and eight home runs, and having a WHIP of 1.39.

Seen to be seen?

On Sunday, third baseman and free agent Alex Bregman appeared at Northwest Stadium during the Washington Commanders—Pittsburg Steelers game, which set off speculation. Are the Nationals interested in landing the all-star third baseman? Should they be interested? (we will cover this a bit more later this week)

VOTE: Should the Washington Nationals sign Alex Bregman?
