Good Morning, Washington Nationals Fans,
Here are the latest headlines and analyses around the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for today, February 11, 2024.
Welcome to the Morning Briefing. Haden here, let’s talk some baseball.
Leading this Morning’s Briefing: Seven games broadcast on MASN this spring training
The Nationals announced their spring training broadcast schedule. This spring MASN will broadcast seven games, including the new Futures Game. Of the games not broadcast on MASN, seven more will be broadcast on 106.7 FM The Fan or The Team 980 AM.
But hey, spring training is here. Pitchers and catchers officially report on Wednesday, with actual spring training games beginning ten days after that. On Wednesday, the Nationals will gain access to the 60-day injured list. With that, the Nationals will likely move Stephen Strasburg, Cade Cavalli, and Zach Bryzcky before the season begins, whether that is on Wednesday or March 26 or somewhere in between.
ICYMI: Minor league coaching staff was announced
This would allow the Nationals to move another player onto the 40-man, whether that is a player already in the organization like James Wood or Dylan Crews, or a player not in the organization, like a waiver claim or potential free agent signing.
