Prospects 1500.com published an article that caught our eye today. It is titled: "Washington Nationals 2021 Top 50 Prospects." From the article: "Having said that, the Nationals farm system is still lacking and probably ranks near the bottom. Giving up two top 12 prospects may seem like a lot to some, but these two players may not even be in the top 20 to 25 range in other organizations.... The Nationals win-now mentality is obviously still strong, as demonstrated by this trade and their willingness to move prospect pieces for established MLB talent. Obviously, this strategy has allowed the Nats to stay relevant in the National League for quite some time while also winning a World Series. The concern, though, is that a healthy pipeline of homegrown talent will be needed." Many of the points mentioned in this article we wrote about in our article about the Washington Nationals farm system. It is worth taking a read of both articles together. Over the next couple of weeks, we will take a more in-depth look at the Washington Nationals farm system.

Major League Baseball Top Story: Are the San Diego Padres the Team to beat in the NL West?

Since the offseason started, the San Deigo Padres have been making a run to be the best team in the NL West. Within a span of 24 hours the Padres, swung a deal with the Rays for right-hander Blake Snell, agreed to terms with Korean infielder Ha-Seong Kim, who profiles as one of the best infielders on the 2020-21 market, and forged a trade with the Cubs for 2020 NL Cy Young runner-up Yu Darvish. So one could say that San Diego might be the team to beat in the National League.
