Philadelphia - In this last trip of the season to the city of brotherly love, our Nationals will take to the field for the final game of this series between the Nationals and the Phillies to attempt to avoid the SWEEP!
It ended up being the quickest game at Citizens Bank Park this season. A mere 2 hours and 6 minutes.
It was that kind of night for Cristopher Sánchez, that everything was going his way. The left-hander was masterful, tossing a complete game to lead the Phillies past Washington, 5-1, in 9 innings with 99 pitches.
Sánchez allowed just two hits on the day, striking out four – including the 250th K of his career – and walked none. Sanchez only give up two hits the entire night a one run homer to Alex Call, and a single to Chaparro, who was left stranded. hard to win a game with theses numbers
There were couple great defensive catches tonight, Nick Castellanos lines out to left fielder James Wood in a flat out diving catch and, Trea Turner lines out t0 right fielder Alex Call for a diving catch. And Vargas faired much better at third tonight then Tena the previous couple of nights.
Looking ahead to tomorrows game:
Our Nationals look to avoid the SWEEP!
