This review feels insulting for Lane. Had he been a projected “star” earlier in his career the narrative would have been “he has now recaptured his potential”. Instead, the results he produces are framed as his “ceiling” and therefore wise to utilize as trade bait. He has arrived as a PROFESSIONAL baseball player who’s narrative should be “Lane Thomas has achieved his promise of talent and projects as a .280 hitter, 25 HR’s, 85 RBIs and a solid right fielder” … which by the way, means that he would be a top outfielder and in high demand
