On October 9th, Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association announced the latest COVID-19 testing results.

One of the most significant results that stood out is that there have been zero new positive cases in Major League Baseball, with over 8,000 samples collected. Additionally, there have now been no new positives for Major League players for 40 consecutive days and in 48 of the last 49 days.

The total amount of samples that have been collected and tested during the season and postseason has risen to over 100,000, of which 91 have been positive, or 0.06%.

Fifty-seven of 91 positives have been players, and 21 of the 30 teams have had a person covered by the monitoring test positive.

The number of monitoring samples collected and tested in the past week was 8,096.

The four teams that entered the Championship Series in the past week are in bubble environments and playing at neutral sites in the hope of minimizing exposure to the novel coronavirus.
