Quick Notes: Are the Nationals A couple of pieces away?

With the recent signings, the Nationals could be positioning themselves to take a run at free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa.

HT to OnePursuitTakes on Twitter for finding this interesting conversation from ESPN analyst Dave Schoenfield. [Twitter Link]

Today on 97.3 the Fan's "Ben and Woods" Schoenfield was theorizing that the Nationals could be positioning themselves to take a run at free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa.

It's an interesting theory as last night the Nationals did sign DH Nelson Cruz to a one-year deal and have been really active over the past few days signing free agents. The Nationals do have some money left in the "bank" to sign another big free agent and with the Braves making an interesting trade, there is a big bat at 1B that is still available.

More to come on this subject
