Here is today's top story: The Washington Nationals need to Improve the Farm System ASAP.

Yesterday, we published an article titled: "The Washington Nationals can learn from the San Diego Padres recent Moves: Improve the Farm System ASAP." Just in case you missed it, here is an excerpt from the article: "We all know that the team's recent success has led to the team to be buyers rather than sellers. The majority of prospects and the club's draftees are pitchers, including 13 prospects from the college ranks. Pitching prospects in the Washington Nationals system occupy each of the top 10 spots on the list and 18 of 30 spots overall." [Click here to read the full article]

Our friends at Talk Nats.com have another great prospect bio. This article focuses on Washington Nationals Pitching Prospect Cade Cavalli. From the article: "The year of 2020 has been abnormal in almost every way. The MLB Draft during this year was a 5-round truncated version of its former self. With the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2020 draft the Washington Nationals picked an Oklahoma Sooners' starter, Cade Cavalli, and signed him for for $3.027 million. The 21-year-old right-hander is now the Baseball America № 1 prospect in the Nats' system. The alternate training camp in Fredericksburg was run by Randy Knorr, Tommy Shields and Jeff Garber with other coaches and development personnel in attendance, and having all of the coaches with this level of experience with daily eyes on Cavalli helped with his development." In Major League Baseball free agent news, the race to sign George Springer has narrowed down to two teams. According to the New York Daily News, "Steve Cohen's Mets and the Toronto Blue Jays are the final clubs competing to land the high-priced outfielder." The article also outlines how Springer would affect the New York Mets outfield: "If the Cohen Effect, which features the new owner's billions and exciting vision for the Amazin's, impresses Springer and he enters the picture, the Mets may have a tough time deciding how they want to align their outfield. Brandon Nimmo, the team's primary centerfielder when healthy, would shift to left field with Michael Conforto remaining in right. With no room in the outfield, that leaves Dominic Smith splitting time with Pete Alonso at first base and J.D. Davis getting the majority of his reps at third base."
