When you talk about an explosive start second overall pick Dylan Crews sticks out, already at the AA level, but if we're talking about the prospect of the year it has to be James Wood. Jumping up to the top prospect in all of baseball in some lists this season its hard not to say he was the Nats prospect of the year.
Obviously his over-30 percent strikeout rate in Double-A raises some questions, but James Wood has in my eyes shown he’s more big league ready than you would think. He crushed the ball, and while the strikeouts are high, the swing and miss wasn’t there to make it concerning. James Wood has a real opportunity to be a big leaguer on Opening Day 2024.
