Another Soto in a Curly W? Elian Soto Intends to Sign With Nationals, Not Mets according to Report

Earlier this month/late last year there were rumblings of Elian Soto the younger brother of Juan, who was close to joining the New York Mets organization according to the New York Post.  Fast forward to yesterday afternoon, when Byron Kerr reported that " Elian Soto, the younger brother of Nats superstar Juan Soto, is close to joining his brother in the Nats organization. Elian, 16, is a 3B/OF."

MLB Insider and Sports Journalist, Hector Gómez has a video of the younger Soto hitting some impressive shots in Washington Nationals gear. [Tweet Link]

Our friends at TalkNats noticed that Elian took down the Mets video he had up last week on Instagram, however, noticed that Elian wore a custom blue tuxedo at the LIDOM party over the weekend and that was Mets blue. [Tweet Link]

No matter what, the younger Soto will not be able to sign with the Nationals until 2023, which is right before Juan Soto's current contract expires.

Why does this matter? Or does it? That is the million-dollar question, or billion if you want to say.  Does the possible signing of the younger Soto mean that Juan wants to stay in D.C? According to Britt Ghiroli of the TheAthletic, "Juan Soto was a factor" in this change. [Tweet Link] Hmm...
