🎙️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

“Our pitchers are just as frustrated as anybody. They know what our offense is doing. They’re very aware of the runs we’re scoring. They want to win some of these games that we should be […] they don’t want to be in this position. They want our offense to continue rolling and give them the run support they like having, but they have to minimize whatever we can,” said manager Blake Butera on the pitching rotation.

📅 NEXT AT BAT

  • Next Game: vs. Chicago White Sox, April 24th, 7:40 PM ET, Rate Field

Zack Littell Improvement Plan

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

It’s no secret that pitcher Zack Littell has had a rough start to his season. With three losses attributed to him so far, the pitcher is looking for specific ways to improve to properly help the team win.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • Across all his games so far in the month of April, right-handed pitcher Zack Littell has given up a total of 18 earned runs on 28 hits, with six walks and 14 strikeouts, across just 20 innings and four games, all causing his ERA to increase to 7.56

  • Most recently, Littell’s latest outing against the Atlanta Braves on April 22nd saw him give up four home runs, increasing his season total to 11, which leads the league by three going into yesterday’s games

  • Compared to even just last season, Littell’s control of the ball has become an issue, with him on track to walk more batters this season, having walked eight batters so far over just five games, when he had one for every game he played last season

  • Another issue the right-hander has encountered is getting batters to chase pitches, with a current chase rate of 27.5%, which is low in comparison to both his 2025 and 2024 rates, which were 30.8% and 31%, respectively

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

"Get back to what I do well. I've kind of gotten away from what I've had success doing in the last couple of years. I'm not just talking about from an execution standpoint. There's some usage stuff and some shape stuff that I've got to get better at. I know it's in there. I've done it for a long time now," said Littell on his performance after Wednesday’s game.

Deloitte: Robot “Adoption is Accelerating Exponentially”

Robots are going from niche to mainstream, per Deloitte. They say it’s especially true in places where “physical AI solves real problems.” Take the $1 trillion fast-food market, where brands turn to robots to alleviate 144% labor turnover.

Miso’s Flippy Fry Station AI robot has already been adopted by major brands like White Castle, frying 5M+ baskets of food to date. That earned strategic investment from industry powerhouse Ecolab and an unique collaboration with NVIDIA.

Now, after acquiring Zignyl, the powerful restaurant-operations tool, Miso adds powerhouse operators like Cinnabon, Jamba, and Jersey Mike’s under their umbrella.

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

It was a rough night for all of the Nats’ minor league teams yesterday, as all of them lost their games. No matter if it was a nail-biter or a bit of a blowout, each team has the opportunity to bounce back and come back better in their next game.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • Rochester lost a close game in the 11th inning yesterday to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 6-5, after mounting a comeback in the ninth inning that saw three runs scored

  • The Senators lost 11-2 at home against the Altoona Curve yesterday, with the only two runs coming from a Leandro Pineda home run and a Seaver King groundout into a double play that saw Kervin Pichardo score

  • In yesterday’s game, Wilmington lost to the Frederick Keys 10-9, despite scoring five runs in the fifth inning, including a Ronny Cruz home run

  • The FredNats lost 10-4 against the Salem RidgeYaks, nearly mounting a comeback in the sixth inning, in which they scored three of their runs

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

The Wilmington Blue Rocks have had a particularly tough past few games, both offensively and defensively. Defensively speaking, the pitching rotation has allowed 51 runs in just the past four games, over two-thirds of those being earned runs, with 28 walks and 10 home runs in that time.

On the batting side of things, they’ve scored 25 runs across all four of those games with a RISP of 10-for-50. These factors combine to produce the Blue Rocks’ current four-game losing streak, which has lasted since the end of their series against the Hub City Spartanburgers.

What do you think about everyone’s games from last night? Do you think Wilmington will snap their losing streak in the coming games?
