Nats Really Settling Into Place, Playing Strong

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

Nats pitching finally turning the corner, young bats remain explosive as the Nats move to 14-17, 3rd in the NL East. After starting off the season slow against multiple powerhouses, the Nats are finding their way as they continue their climb towards .500, stringing together some great quality wins.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • After a slight slump in the recent weeks, Brady House finally corked a home run in yesterday’s game, and even better, it was his first career grand slam. The 22 year-old Nats phenom had a fantastic Spring Training and started off his season the same way. Since falling into a minor slump recently, hopefully this grand slam will be what he needs to get right back on track.

  • After winning 3 of their last 4, in those 3 games the Nats pitching has finally started to find the recipe to win games. Allowing no more than 3 runs in those 3 wins, the Nats starters have really played a key factor. Jake Irvin, Cade Cavalli and Foster Griffin all being able to go 6+ innings in these starts with sub 3 earned runs allowed has really allowed for the Nats offense to find their rhythm and hold control of the game.

  • Despite the rough shutout on Tuesday, the Nats great bounce back win yesterday once again showed how unstoppable their offense will prove to be. Now averaging the 2nd most runs per game in the MLB, the Nats offense is scoring an average of 5.48. With 7 of the Nats 9 starting batters being under the age of 25, there is no words to describe how far their offensive ceiling might reach.

  • As new arms get called up into the bullpen and others find their rhythm lowering their ERA, rookie manager Blake Butera has done a great job setting up his relievers and closers to succeed. Posting a shutout from the bullpen in yesterday's game, Butera will continue to find his most reliable guys to call on in close games to seal the deal.

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

Manager Butera spoke on how young and talented Brady House is after his grand slam yesterday, speaking on how high his potential is.

"I think sometimes we forget just how young Brady is,” said manager Blake Butera. “He doesn’t really have a ton of time at the Major League level, and even at professional baseball when you look at just the amount of at-bats and games played he has. He’s still learning as he’s going. He’s still getting his feet comfortable here in the big leagues. When he hits a home run like that, a grand slam, it hopefully reminds him how good he can be.”

📈 MORNING STAT

Brady House’s first career grand slam is the most recent one for the Nats. The last one? August 25, 2025 when Jacob Young hit his first career slam!
