In 2021, Brady House was selected in the first round of the MLB Draft with the 11th overall pick. Brady's journey began in the summer of '21, and his dream of playing for the Washington Nationals became a part of his life. "You never know when it's going to be your time to be called up. I think that what Washington is looking for up there is more consistency from me. Consistency comes with patience!" House made that statement at the Rochester Red Wings' Media Day in late March. He has shown a more consistent effort at the plate this season, and his patience is paying dividends.

After Sunday's game, when he extended his Rochester hitting streak to 15 games, Brady House received word that he is being promoted to the Washington Nationals. This season, House started developing better patience and chasing pitches out of the strike zone less by developing a stronger mental mindset. "Sometimes I find myself in big situations at bat and in the field and I have learned to stay calm and trust the process my coaches have taught me."

His batting average last year in Rochester was .250, with an OBP of .280 and a .655 OPS. This year, after 65 games and 260 at-bats, his hitting line is .304/.353/.872. These metrics have improved drastically along with his consistent patience, and he has 29 extra-base hits, 15 doubles, one triple and 13 home runs along with 41 RBIs. One area he still needs to improve is that he has decreased his chasing pitches out of the strike zone, but he still swings at too many first pitches. House is an aggressive hitter, and he makes solid barrel contact. He needs to harness his aggressiveness when he has no strikes by decreasing the size of his strike zone until he gets one strike. This approach will allow House to still swing at the first pitch, but it gives a more selective zone for hitting a better pitch. If he gets the count in his favor this year, he is hitting .391, and when the count is not in his favor, he is hitting .169.

House's defense is "major league" ready. He has a strong throwing arm, and his throws to first are accurate. He has great reactions to the ball and solidly defends the hot corner.

Brady House turned 22 on June 4. The move to the Nationals is a dream becoming a reality. Whenever a player moves to the next level, there is an adjustment period. Brady House could be playing third base in Washington for a long time. All his fans in Rochester and all the other teams in the Nationals' organization that he has played for the last four years are pulling for him. Good luck, Brady House!
