WASHINGTON, D.C. - FEBRUARY 11 - The Washington Nationals agreed to terms today on a one-year deal with right-hander Miles Mikolas. The deal brings D.C. the veteran starting pitcher option that has been teased in recent weeks, while also giving the 37-year-old a chance to prove his value and be traded to a contender in the summer.

Mikolas enters the season with a 4.24 career ERA, and has had years ranging from 2.83 to as high as 5.35. The Nationals have little risk in the deal, but a good amount of upside.

Stay tuned for more on the story as it develops.
