Cade Cavalli’s first career start against the Dodgers began with an early mistake, but he quickly settled down and finished with six strong innings and eight strikeouts.
The outing continued an impressive stretch for the Nationals’ right-hander. Over his last nine starts, Cavalli is 7-1 with a 1.83 ERA, 67 strikeouts and a .188 opponents’ average.
After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023 and making only three minor-league appearances in 2024, Cavalli has worked his way back to Washington and is now making his case as the Nationals’ rotation anchor.
